Cleaning
Safety of Employees
All Malinis Home Solutions staff (employees/contractors) are covered by WSIB insurance. In addition, to protect the health and safety of our staff, they will not move anything heavier than 35 lbs. Should you require us to clean behind heavy furniture or appliances, please move them prior to our arrival to allow access to the target area.
Our staff cannot climb higher than a 1-step stool. Also, we cannot ask our employees/contractors to climb any ladders or stand on any unstable surfaces.
Materials/substances that present hazard to our staff will be left untouched. Such hazardous materials include and a not limited to: items or areas containing any body fluids, pest removal, excretions, needles, band substances, litter boxes, mold. Our teams are advised to clean around the areas that contain such hazardous materials and in cases of excessive contamination, our staff will vacate the area.
If the staff feels that their personal safety is in danger (someone in the home is intoxicated, vicious animal not contained, exposure to drugs or firearms etc.), the team will leave the job site, and the client is still responsible for the full cost of the job. We will attempt to reach you by phone if this situation should arise.
Insects
Insect infestation can also be an employee safety risk and may prevent us from cleaning your home. If ants, termites, roaches, fleas, bedbugs etc., are encountered, we will not clean or vacuum the home. We will leave your home and contact you regarding the problem.
Cancellations
In your busy life, we understand that things come up suddenly. Should you wish to cancel or skip any scheduled cleaning appointment, please provide Malinis Home Solutions with a minimum of two business days (48 hours) notice prior to your scheduled appointment. If we do not receive adequate notice the following cancellation fee will apply
Within two business days (48 hours) you will be charged $79.00
If you notify Malinis Home Solutions upon arrival that we cannot enter your home, we will charge 50% of your scheduled service.
Lock Out
If we are unable to gain entry to your home, a member of our Customer Care Team will contact you via phone and/or email to request further instructions. Our Team will wait for a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes before proceeding to their next appointment. If the Team cannot obtain access within 15 minutes of arriving at your home, you will be charged 50% of your scheduled service.
Access
You have a couple of options for providing Malinis Home Solutions access to your home. We strongly recommend that a key or a door code for your home be provided to Malinis Home Solutions, because your scheduled cleaning time may change for each service appointment. If you provide a key, we would require that you leave it on your premises in a key lock box outside. We can provide the box for purchase ($35.00+tx) and mount it on an outside wall at no charge. We also have the hook version that can be hung on your door knob (like the Real Estate Agents use).
For your safety, we require our clients that no longer require our services, to change the key lock box code. We will delete the code we have on file at our office.
If it is not possible to give us your key or door code, you will need to meet the Malinis Home Solutions staff at your residence. Please refer to the Lock Out Policy if our staff is unable to access your home during the One-Hour Arrival Window.
Security Alarm
If your home is equipped with a security system, please ensure that it is in the “OFF” position or inform the Malinis Home Solutions office of the codes and input sequence before your scheduled cleaning. Any charges from your security company for false alarms due to not having the code/proper instructions about the system, will be at the expense of the home owner.
Scheduling
In order to book your One-time or Recurring Cleaning Appointments, we ask for your Time Preference Window as indicated on our website within the booking tool. We will send you a confirmation of your booking time once we have confirmed the details. We do require a One-Hour Arrival Window due to traffic, weather and unforeseen situations. Our staff will notify you when they are en route.
We strive to have the same staff members clean your home or office on a regular basis, however, this is not guaranteed. Due to vacation, illness or departure from the company, Malinis Home Solutions may provide replacement cleaning staff.
If, due to the unique nature of your home, your service providers are unable to complete your cleaning within the amount of time requested, we may call you to ask for authorization to spend more time cleaning your home. We will inform you of additional costs accordingly before proceeding with the work.
One-Hour Arrival Window
We provide you with a One-hour Arrival Window relative to your scheduling time preference to allow for factors beyond our control such as traffic conditions, customers adding services, lockouts, or cancellations. Leaving a key at your home in a key lock box or providing us with your door code(s) are the easiest ways to give us access to your home and relieve you from the necessity to be home to let the staff in. We will try our best to meet your scheduling time preference but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee this.
Pets Escaping from The Home
We cannot be responsible for pets that “escape” when our staff is entering/exiting your home. If your pet will be “roaming free” during the cleaning, please let us know in advance, so the staff can be on alert when they open doors. Our staff are trained to close doors as soon as they enter and exit your home and will not leave doors open for long periods.
Clutter
The cleaning will be more satisfactory if the cleaning staff does not have a great deal of clutter with which to contend. If a home is heavily cluttered this may affect the estimate that was provided and may result in a request for additional time.
24-Hour Guarantee
Since cleaning is a very personal and human service, we realize that occasionally an area may not be cleaned to your satisfaction. We are unable to offer a refund, however, if you're not 100% satisfied with quality of cleaning of any of the serviced areas, please contact us within 24 hours of your clean. We will re-visit your home or office at no extra charge.
Gift Certificates/Gift Cards
Gift Certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.
Breakage /Loss
Malinis Home Solutions Inc. is bonded and insured. Our liability limits are set at a maximum of 10 times the cost of the service charge on the day in which the breakage/loss occurred. Notification of an incident must be made within 48 hours of service. Key replacement/locksmith fees are paid only if keys are lost or miscoded. There is a $100 per location liability limit for key replacement and/or locksmith services.
We will assume no liability for items not secured/installed in a proper manner (example: heavy pictures hanging from thumb tacks, not anchored properly to walls), pre-existing damages, scratches, dings in windows, paint, furniture, floors, walls, etc.
If you have items you prefer, we do not clean or handle, please contact the office/make notes on your booking and we will arrange to avoid those items.
Payments
We accept the following forms of payment: MasterCard, VISA and AMEX. Payment must be made in full to Malinis Home Solutions Inc. upon completion of service. A finance charge of 2% per month (24% annually) will be charged on all past due balances.
Wear & Tear
Over the years wear & tear can build up in homes, baseboards, bottom of showers and tubs, mold/mildew, excessive water spots and soap scum on glass shower doors, worn flooring grout lines, window tracks, etc. are all areas where wear and tear will have an outcome on the final look of the cleaning. These areas may take more than once service to improve or in some case’s it may not be possible to improve.
Employee Referral Fee
Should you wish to hire a present or past Malinis Home Solutions staff member for any home-related service outside of your agreement with Malinis Home Solutions Inc, our referral fee is $2,500. This fee is due within 30 days of notification from Malinis Home Solutions Inc. If the fee is not paid, Malinis Home Solutions Inc reserves the right to pursue other methods of collection.

We at Malinis Home Solutions Inc. are doing our best in keeping your loved ones and our staff safe from COVID-19.
Regular Staff Health Checks.
Each morning our staff confirms that they have not developed any symptoms in the last 24 hours or since their last shift. If someone feels ill during their shift, it is reported to Management and they are sent home. We will either reschedule your cleaning service or send a new team member to your home when possible.
Clean and Sanitized Supplies.
Every day each container is emptied, cleaned, disinfected and replenished with fresh stock. Each set of cleaning supplies we bring to your home has been packaged purposefully for use in your home only.
If items such as vacuums, attachments, mop handles, stool, etc are required to be used at more than 1 location for the day, they are cleaned and disinfected between jobs.
Staff Training.
Each staff member has received training in COVID-19 cleaning and disinfecting procedures. This will be implemented in your home and/or business to fight the spread of COVID-19.
PPE - Masks, Gloves and Boot Covers
Our staff is equipped with lots of PPE, so we will never recycle those.
All our staff is required to keep PPE on while servicing your home for everyone’s safety.
Social Distancing
When we arrive at your home or business, we will alert you before entering your property and apply our PPE. This gives you a moment to gather your family together in one space or leave the home/business so we can effectively adhere to social distancing guidelines. If you choose to stay home, we kindly ask that your loved ones remain in the designated space until we leave your home.
Additional Cleaning and Disinfecting
We are using a hospital disinfectant cleaner, mold killer and odour eliminator that is EPA and Health Canada registered (DIN#02422654). The product is non-irritating to the skin, non-corrosive to most treated articles, colourless, odourless, and NSF certified (no rinse required) for food contact surfaces.
